Sol y Motion

Sol Y Motion is a family-born, funk-fueled indie rock band made up of brothers Nick Klein (vocals, guitar) and Thomas Klein (drums), alongside their father Chris Klein on bass. Originally from Houston and now based in Austin, this trio is celebrating 10 years of making music together—a decade of danceable chaos, sibling banter, and undeniable chemistry on stage.

The band’s upcoming second album, due out August 2026, marks a bold new chapter in their journey, blending sharp songwriting with an expanded sonic palette. At the heart of Sol Y Motion is a rotating lineup of classically trained heavy-hitters:

Colin Hoolihan and Javier Vasquez on saxophones,

Mark Scott III on lead guitar,

and Luke Theissen on piano.

Together, they deliver a dynamic live show that fuses indie pop, funk, and rock into what the band calls Vacation Rock—a sound that’s equal parts nostalgic and fresh.
